And this is a huge bunch of flor de calabaza, the edible flowers of squash… or you might call them pumpkins, depending where you live. (and I’ll tell you a secret: they’re all male!)
In 2009, I took a leap from Canada… and landed in Central Mexico.
In the 10 years that followed, I learned everything I could about regional produce around the country, connecting with people whose livelihoods depend on growing, foraging, selling and cooking with the edible plants that grow close to their homes.
Now it’s 2020… and here’s the good news: food experiences that allow you to connect with other ‘travellers’, explore and experience new flavors from wherever you are is available to you right here… without a plane ticket.
