Street Fresh Tour
This tour gets started at a tianguis – the Nahuatl word for a weekly open-air market. Every town in Mexico has at least one tianguis… Mexico City has around 1500 of them! There, you’ll taste some corn-based antojitos, all topped with/containing various plant-foods indigenous to Mexico. Wandering through the tianguis, you’ll try fresh produce that, for the most part, is still grown using sustainable agricultural practices. From there, we’ll wander to a neveria for nieves made from indigenous fruits. After a little walk to aid our digestion, we’ll finish the tour with a tasting of the traditional fermented agave beverage, pulque.
This tour suits plant-food lovers of all persuasions –vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike.
