Join me for a Mexico City
Plant Food Lover’s tour!
Did you know that before the Conquest, little meat was eaten in what is now Mexico? The preHispanic diet was mostly plants, and these tours are all about experiencing Mexico’s indigenous heritage of regional fruits, vegetables and herbs.
STREET FRESH TOUR
Tianguis is the Nahuatl (Aztec) word for the itinerant street market of which there are more than 1500 in Mexico City alone, recurring weekly. Vendors come from rural communities outside the city to sell special produce; it’s an ideal place to experience the fresh food culture.
This tour suits plant-food lovers of all persuasions –vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike.
HIGH/ LOW TOUR
From the tianguis to the chef’s kitchen – experience ingredients steeped in culture and tradition. We begin the day tasting regional produce, fresh and in traditional street-food snacks, and cap off the experience with tastings at a notable restaurant.
This tour emphasizes plant-foods – herbs, fruits and vegetables – and will appeal to vegetarians and omnivores alike (and vegans willing to flex a bit)
ONE-ON-ONE & CUSTOM EXPERIENCES
Customized, one-on-one (or your own small group) food experience.
Ideal for the solo traveller, new “expats” looking to get accustomed to eating/cooking with local ingredients or those who are super-inquisitive or with a special interest.
To continue your fresh food discoveries as you travel Mexico, all Plant Lover’s Tour participants will also receive a bonus download code for my eBook …
